Climate
Mediterranean climate dominates. Very hot and dry summers, mild winters. High sunlight allows grapes to reach full ripeness, wines become full-bodied.
Soil Structure
Highly varied: granite, schist, clay and limestone. This richness allows production of different wine styles.
Local Grapes
Red grape varieties: Aragonez (Tempranillo), Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet (the region's most characteristic grape), Castelão.
White grape varieties: Antão Vaz (Alentejo's icon), Arinto, Roupeiro.

Modern, fruit-driven red wines. Fresh whites with tropical aromas. Premium class, oak-aged Reserva wines.

Red: Ripe plum, blackberry, cocoa, spice; robust body.
White: Tropical fruit, citrus, creamy textures.
Acidity: Medium. Body: Medium–full. Character: Fruity, round, soft tannins from warm climates.
